Daniel Agi

Daniel Agi's passion for new music is based on his fascination for the sheer inexhaustible wealth of playing forms and aesthetics as well as the ever new challenges. Thus, among others with the ensemble hand werk, which he founded, he regularly performs at internationally renowned music festivals such as the Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, the Zagreb Biennale and the Cologne Festival Acht Brücken. Daniel Agi studied with Hans-Martin Müller and Robert Aitken in Cologne and Freiburg and earned a master's degree at the International Ensemble Modern Academy. He is also at home in the classical repertoire as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and is a guest with the Duisburg and Düsseldorf Philharmonic Orchestras and Ensemble musikFabrik. As a teacher, Daniel Agi passes on his knowledge in workshops at Harvard University, the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore and the Musikhochschule Dresden.
Udo Grimm

Udo Grimm studied at the Hanover University of Music and Drama in the class of Prof. Hans Deinzer and then in the solo class. In 1990 he won the 1st prize in clarinet at the Hanover University of Music and Drama. From 1987 to 91 he was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. He is a founding member of the Neues Ensemble Hannover and a regular guest with orchestras such as Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Ensemble Modern and Ensemble Resonanz.
Christof Hahn

Christof Hahn, born in Düsseldorf, lives as a freelance pianist and music teacher in Hamburg. He studied with Peter Roggenkamp at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and with Caio Pagano at Arizona State University. A main focus of his musical interest is the music of the 20th and 21st century. He has performed numerous premieres and first performances (including works by H. Birtwistle, F. Döhl, H. W. Henze, Y. Höller, J. Müller-Wieland and N. Tzortzis), sometimes in close collaboration with the composers. He performs as a soloist, chamber musician and Lied accompanist with the NDR Choir, Symphoniker Hamburg, NDR Symphony Orchestra in Europe, USA, Japan, Russia and China, among others. Numerous radio and CD recordings.
Stephan Meier
— Percussion, Artistic Director
Percussionist, conductor and composer, Artistic Director of the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group as well as Artistic Director of Das Neue Ensemble (Hannover). Stephan Meier studied percussion and piano in Hannover and The Hague and followed courses with Pierre Boulez, Mauricio Kagel, Luigi Nono as well as Diego Masson and Peter Eötvös (conducting) as a scholarship holder of the Centre Acanthes and the Foyle Foundation / Cath Collins, Dartington. As a soloist and with his ensembles, Meier has performed in Europe, Russia and Asia. For introductory and participatory events, Meier has been invited by the Musikfreunde Goslar, the German Music Council, and the German President, among others. He was the founding chairman of Musik 21 NGNM e.V.
Josje ter Haar
— Violin
Josje ter Haar from the Netherlands has been violinist (and sometimes violist) of Das Neue Ensemble since 2012. She developed her affinity for new music while studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague, where composers such as Stockhausen, Messiaen and Cage were guests. She is a founding member of the Ives Ensemble, with whom she has played many concerts at international festivals and released award-winning CDs, including the monumental String Quartet no. 2 by Morton Feldman. Josje plays in the Floreal Strijkkwartet, holds a position with the first violins in the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, and is deeply involved in early music. She plays a Dutch violin from 1709, which was given to her by the Nationaal Muziekinstrumentenfonds.
Jessica Kuhn

She received formative impulses during her studies in Germany and the USA. Concert exam with Natalia Gutman. With her complete recording of the work for violoncello solo "Trilogia" by Giacinto Scelsi, which received an enthusiastic response from the press and the public, Jessica Kuhn positioned herself in the scene of New Music. She has since performed more than 70 world premieres in various ensembles, as a chamber musician and as a soloist.
Her concert activities have taken her to the Barbican Center, London, the Teatro alla Scala, Milan, the Philharmonics of Cologne and Berlin, as well as to the Musikfest Berlin, the Agora Festival Paris, the Festival Al Bustan, Beiruth, New York and Vancouver.
In 2013 Jessica Kuhn founded the Munich concert series sonorizzonte, presenting her wide-ranging repertoire from baroque music to music of the 21st century. In 2017, the ensemble sonorizzonte emerged from this. 2019 was marked by performances at the Beethovenfest Bonn, the production of the Chinese chamber opera Wenji, and a CD production of works by the Greek composer Nicolas Tzortzis. In 2020, Jessica Kuhn made a guest appearance as principal cellist with the Camerata Salzburg, with whom she toured to the Al Bustan Festival, Beiruth, Lebanon, and elsewhere. In 2022, Holzschuh Verlag published Jessica Kuhn's Bow School for Children: Billy Bogen and Gwindi Greifhand. Jessica Kuhn plays a cello by Joseph Gaffino, Paris 1752, a baroque cello by Thomas Smith, London 1762, and a piccolo cello in a modern replica.
